I do indeed live for thursdays! I love doing this for other young women who need inspiration to comply with the business dress code. For this week I kept it simple because I know how hard it is too get up  for work everyday  and not pull out that cardigan.  I challenge that thinking, its not just work, its 80% of your life. If your going to spend that much time at a 9-5 you better feel good doing it. For me, one component of me feeling good is definitely in my outfit! Now back on track,  a simple tee makes a blazer and pant combo more comfortable and less ‘STIFF’. By doing this you can feel your age and still look appropriate for your jobs dress code. I pulled in a fun pop of color with the flats and a color complimenting bag for fall. **Doesn’t that Chanel look amazing, my god!**

Tip: If you have a few more curves you can still pull of fitting ankle pants! Do not feel obligated to wear those horrible straight leg slacks all the time. Jus get your blazer or tee longer to break up the tightness of the pants.

Leather and Sweaters

Its finally starting to rain so I pulled out my warm clothes for work today. I love this long sleeve sweater maxi dress, really adds a classic twist on this style. I decided to pair it with silver jewlery, a moto, and black booties. I pulled in this old school Marc Jacobs bag I had from high school to compliment the blue hue of my dress. *excuse the hair, my appt is coming lol*
Sweater Maxi- Nordstrom
Leather Moto- Zara
Black Booties- Shoedazzle (was here)
Bag-Old March Jacobs

Old News

Using a tripod to take your blog photos? me too!

Today was my first time using a tripod and I must say I am pleased with the results. I moved the tripod around a bit , but kept it at waist level to get a good full body shot.  Also, instead of using a remote I just used the self-timer and continuos shooting in manual mode; 10 seconds and 9 consecutive shots was more than enough for me. I took these shots about 3ft. away from my tripod, clearly enough room. Im so happy this turned out to be a success, as one blogger feat for me was finding someone to capture all of my style moments. not anymore 🙂

Now to the outfit I wore to work, I was super lazy this morning so I chose comfort over anything. I pulled these very old pieces out of my closet mainly because I did not have to iron them (i know!) I was not disappointed. I found that even with these old pieces I pulled together an outfit that worked, I still expressed my style.

Plaid Button Up- Ralph Lauren Boys (old)
Dirty Jeans- Gap (old)
Deep Red Leather Booties- Nine West (old)
Salt&Pepper Blazer- Forever 21 (also old)
Burgundy Leather Hat- JC Penny

In the Red

Today was an beautiful day in San Francisco, so I decided to put on this easy outfit for a trip to the Park.  I paired a pop of color with some otherwise plain pieces, try this to add some fun to your everyday uniform.

Here goes another installment of my weekly style inspirations for you business casual 9 to 5, a day early,YASSSS. I like this one cause as always with my work-wear I enjoy being able to wear my clothing else wear *happy hour*. Adding a hip pant or skit to a cute bold top does the  trick.

These awesome shoes are currently available at SHOEDAZZLE.COM for a great price I might add.

Tip: Have fun with your accessories, this department is usually less restrictive than the clothing. I really like these nude tones with these dark clothes, softens it up a bit. Also, Marshalls typically has these Equipment tops for 45-80 bucks, worth it for a good quality top.

The Simple Things

For Martin Luther King Day I celebrated in this simple get up. If you haven’t already got the memo ZARA is having awesome sale, so I purchased a couple of these pieces over the weekend for a great price.

I also threw on my new favorite accessory, that good ol’ ankle bracelet.

  • Rustic Top- Zara
  • Low Rise Denim- H&M
  • Navy Blue Pumps- Zara
  • Structured Bag- Forever 21 (old)

Effortless Details

I’m thinking this may turn into a weekly thing but who knows; little details within your outfit turns it up a few notches. I’ve grown fond of a trend that has been around for ages now, ankle bracelets. It looks perfect with my ankle jeans and pumps. Instead of buying an actual ankle bracelet I improvised and purchased a couple of bracelets from Forever 21. Try it and let me know how it works out for you!
