#SFFW14 was hashtag of the night at the San Francisco Fashion Week Opening Ceremony. For the reception I opted for a more mod look that was simple yet stylish. I am coming to understand that my love for classic simple clothing runs deep, and I hate to put myself in a style box but I think the minimalist chic look is me. Dark colors are my favorite and it happened to be fall-eve so I was right on the money with my palette choice.
This look came together a day before the event after my planned look fell through. Initially I was going to wear a floor length navy blue skirt with a baseball tee or sweater but everything went wrong with that. I’m glad it did. The skirt ended up being too tight and I could not find a tee or crop sweater to save my life. I was freaking beat, so I decided to have a quick shopping day right before the event to pull something together. I knew I was looking for comfort and statement simplicity. I found this black sweater first and fell in love with the ribbed detail and the slight turtleneck. This top took me right back to the old days and the rest was history. I wanted to add the more mod boxy feel in so I went with a simple mini that had pockets (always a plus). To make the look pop into something I added a statement necklace. I purchased each of these pieces separately and pulled them together for an easy look for #SFFW14.
